Come to Montenegro by plane
From most European capitals, the flight to Montenegro takes about two hours. You will land at one of two modern, international airports: either in Podgorica (12 km from the capital city) or Tivat (4 km from the Tivat city center).

Arrival by boat
Montenegro is connected to the world by sea.
Important ports and marinas:
- Porto Montenegro Marina (With free berths for all types of vessels and access to the border crossing point, which includes Police, Customs, and Harbor Master's Offices)
- Port of Kumbor-Portonovi (With free berths for all types of vessels and access to the border crossing point, which includes Police, Customs, and Harbor Master's Offices)
- Luštica Bay - (With free berths for all types of vessels. For now it is an internal traffic marina of internal traffic, which means that during the first entry into Montenegro, border control must be performed in one of the marinas where it is allowed)
- Budva Marina (jurisdiction - Port Authority of Bar) - (With free berths for all types of vessels and access to the border crossing point, which includes Police, Customs, and Harbor Master's Offices)
- Bar Marina (With free berths for all types of vessels. To enter this marina, you must first perform a border control at Pier 5 of the commercial Port of Bar, the border crossing berth of which is only a few hundred meters from the entrance to the Bar marina)
- Port of Zelenika - (In previous years, used only as a mooring for border crossings without accommodation capacity)
- Port of Kotor - (With free berths for all types of vessels and access to the border crossing, which includes branches of the Police, Customs, and Port Authority). The port of Kotor is a very popular destination for cruisers.
How to get here by bus?
Montenegro offers you quality local bus transport, but also excellent bus connections with cities in Europe, especially with neighboring countries (Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia). Find a destination, check the schedule, and book online through the BusTicket4.me service, or simply buy a ticket at the counter of the bus station.
Traveling by car?
The main roads in Montenegro are well kept and of good quality. The sea and high northern mountains are connected by the Adriatic Highway and the Risan - Žabljak road.
The fastest way to get from Podgorica to the sea is through the Sozin tunnel (located in Municipality of Bar), and one of the most important routes that connects the coast with the capital and the capital is the Budva - Cetinje - Podgorica road. Montenegro has a grand total of 5,277 km of roads all together.
In Montenegro, some roads and road sections contain three lanes. The construction of a new highway is underway, and its priority section from Smokovac - Mateševo will soon be in operation. For more information on road conditions, click on www.amscg.org
How can you get there by train?
Montenegro boasts a total railway network length of 327.72 km. This network connects Montenegro with Serbia and Albania. The most popular railway destinations in Montenegro are the capital Podgorica, which offers its transitional Mediterranean environment for rest, work and entertainment purposes; Bar, one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic coast; and the industrial student city of Nikšić.
