The Tara River has molded the limestone through which it has run for centuries, resulting in a magnificent canyon marked by steep gorges, massive boulders, and gaping crevices! The shores are steep, and the area is densely forested. Trees over 50 meters tall and over 450 years old can be seen in the Crna Poda complex, a rare, primeval black pine forest.

You won't know what a true adventure is till you sip the clear water of Tara and raft down its freezing rapids. Tara offers special pleasures - rafting and kayaking. The rafting season runs from April to October, and the best time to go rafting is during the spring snowmelt, when the rapids are at their wildest. A rapids tour could contain up to two hours of endless thrills. 

While Rafting can happen on modern rubber boats, an excursion on one of the traditional wooden rafts, helmed by the incredibly skilled workers who used to transport lumber in this way, will be positively unforgettable. 

Imagine the literally breathtaking stunt that the zip line from Đurđevića Bridge provides! Prepare to witness an incomparable panorama as you soar at an altitude of nearly 150 meters above the plunging canyon gorge!

Kayakers will find Devil's Lazi Gorge to be a special challenge

The Devil's Lazi Gorge is located beneath the Crna Poda rainforest, near the Tara River canyon's entrance. Nature has shrunk the channel of Europe's most beautiful river to just 2 to 3 meters here. If you enjoy untamed beauty and adventurous kayaking, this section of the canyon is a great challenge for you!
