The Montenegrin language is an integral part of the Shtokavian language system. Montenegrin is the official language in Montenegro (since 2007), and Serbian, Bosnian, Albanian and Croatian are also in official use. The Montenegrin language has both cyrillic and latin alphabets in use, and utilizes them interchangeably.
