The prestigious British travel magazine Wanderlust has recommended Montenegro, along with neighbouring Albania, as the one of the top destinations on its list of countries to visit in July this year.
Montenegro has once again been listed alongside the likes of Australia, Seychelles and Mexico. The Wanderlust article recommends our country as a perfect summer getaway with fewer crowds and ideal tropical temperatures for this time of year.
“Enjoy a stroll around Kotor, soak up the rays on Budva’s beaches, and get your nature fix in Durmitor National Park,” the article says.
As the UK's oldest and leading travel magazine, Wanderlust attracts over 680,000 unique users and more than million page views every month. The popularity of this magazine is proved by more than 160,000 followers on social media.

The German media also recognised our country as a destination worth visiting. The well-known Freizeit Woche weekly published an article about Montenegro in its Dream Travel section, describing the country as a “paradise in the Balkans”.
The eight-page article featuring Montenegro notes that, although a small Balkan country, Montenegro is full of surprises with plenty of wonderful experiences in nature.
“Beaches with crystal clear waters of the Adriatic Sea, romantic places with magnificent churches, monasteries and palaces, and that small and sophisticated Tivat,” the article reads.
The authors also highlighted the Bay of Kotor, Budva and Sveti Stefan, Ulcinj’s Long Beach, but also the north of our country, pointing out the natural beauty of Durmitor National Park.
Freizeit Woche has a circulation of nearly 350,000 copies and reaches about half a million readers.
Keeping in mind the importance of the UK and German tourism markets for Montenegro, the articles in these influential media make a special contribution towards the positioning of our country as an attractive travel destination for 2021.
