The National Tourism Organisation of Montenegro, in collaboration with the local tourism organisation of Budva and tourism businesses, is showcasing Montenegro’s tourism offering at IBTM World show, which is taking place between 19 and 21 November in Barcelona.
IBTM World is one of Europe's leading fairs the meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) industry, bringing together 2,600 exhibitors from 77 countries and over 2,700 professionals in this field.
During the first day of the fair, the National Tourism Organisation (NTO) gave presentations of Montenegro’s MICE tourism products to an audience of hosted buyers. At interactive meetings with event management companies from Spain, Belgium, Germany, Russia, Poland, UK and France, the NTO presented enhanced hotel capacities, improved air connectivity and opportunities for organising events in Montenegro.
Montenegro is an up-and-coming destination on the list of top destinations for business tourism. Demand is growing year on year thanks to numerous advantages, including new 4 and 5 star hotels with all the necessary amenities, Mediterranean climate, spectacular nature, opportunities for unforgettable excursions, delicious food, as well as the fact that Montenegro is only two hours away from most European capitals.
For Montenegro, the development of this type of tourism is particularly important in the context of extending the season, creating a year-round tourist destination and generating higher revenues from tourism. This reflects the fact that business trips take place in the off-season, and also that business travellers spend significantly more leisure tourists.
At the Montenegrin stand, tourism products were presented by the tourism organisation of Budva, Montenegro Stars Hotel Group, Regent Porto Montenegro, The Chedi Luštica Bay, as well as by a number of travel agencies, including MTS Montenegro, Explorer, Intours DMC, Montenegro in Style and East West Voyage.
