If you are a "wind hunter," you should visit Ulcinj, Ada Bojana, and Velika Beach (Long Beach).
What makes this location ideal for kitesurfing? Miles of sandy beach devoid of trees and rocks, hundreds of meters of shallow sea free of coral and other obstacles, sunny and clear summers, and the Mistral - the daily wind that blows here from May to September - are just a few of the reasons.
With wind gusts of 8-14 m/s and sea levels ranging from 0.5 to 1.5 m, this is the supreme setting for your adrenaline rush on the water!
Who can kite, and what are the requirements?
A basic kite surfing course requires eight to ten hours of practice, and even children and the elderly often apply for the course. All you need is a good attitude!
The training is done in stages, with the basic steps first learned on the sand and then transferred to the sea. Where can you train? There are several kite training schools on the Velika Beach (Long Beach) where you can rent equipment. Prices are slightly lower at the start of the season, in May, and the most expensive is from mid-July to the end of August. Furthermore, if you want to be constantly close to the sea, all clubs/schools have their own camping area on the coast, coffee-bar restaurants, and parking.
